Aruba is ideal for a relaxing holiday, but there’s plenty to discover beyond its famous beaches. We share our tips on getting around, the best time to visit, great places to explore and unique experiences, so you can make the most of your trip to Aruba.
Can you easily explore Aruba by rental car?
Yes. A rental car is one of the easiest ways to explore Aruba. Distances are short, so you can easily combine several beaches, nature areas and sights in a single day. For car rental in Aruba, we recommend Sunnycars.
What is the difference between Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire?
Although Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire are all part of the ABC islands, each has its own distinct character. We especially loved Aruba for its beautiful beaches, great hotels and incredibly friendly people. The atmosphere feels a little more international, and you’ll hear less Dutch being spoken. We were particularly surprised by the rugged beauty of Aruba’s northern coast. Curaçao has a relaxed, colourful atmosphere and plenty to discover, from beautiful beaches and local culture to great restaurants and lively spots to enjoy in the evening. Bonaire is smaller and more laid-back, with a strong focus on diving and snorkelling.
What is the best time to visit Aruba?
Aruba is a year-round destination. The island lies outside the main hurricane belt and generally enjoys plenty of sunshine and little rainfall. January through August are great months for a beach holiday, but the weather remains pleasant for the rest of the year too.
What are the best places to visit in Aruba?
Alongside well-known beaches such as Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, we especially enjoyed exploring Oranjestad, San Nicolas and the rugged northern coast.
