Please note that you reach Cap de Formentor via the spectacular but narrow Ma-2210 mountain road from Port de Pollen\u00e7a. During these hours, you can only continue by shuttle bus, bicycle, or on foot.<\/p>

5. Stroll around the market in Santany\u00ed\u00a0<\/h2>

After the lively and large market in Alc\u00fadia<\/span><\/span>, it\u2019s worth discovering a completely different side of Mallorca. In the southeast of the island lies Santany\u00ed<\/span><\/span>, where the atmosphere is much smaller, quieter, and more laid-back.<\/p>

The village is known for its lively weekly market, which takes place several times a week and winds its way through the historic center. Stroll through the golden-yellow cobblestone streets, wander past the market stalls, and soak up the delightful local atmosphere.\u00a0<\/p>

At the market, you\u2019ll find mostly local products such as olive oil, fresh produce, ceramics, and handmade jewelry. 6. Spot dolphins on the open sea\u00a0<\/h2>

You might not expect it, but dolphin watching in Mallorca is truly a bucket-list experience. Did you know that you have a 99% chance of seeing dolphins here? We saw dolphins up close and it was definitely something we wouldn\u2019t have wanted to miss.\u00a0<\/p>

We did our dolphin tour with Alcudia Sea Explorer<\/a><\/strong>. During a 3-hour speedboat cruise, we sailed from Alc\u00fadia out into the open sea. The dolphins even jumped right out of the water alongside our boat, which was definitely the highlight of the trip.\n\nBut the experience doesn\u2019t stop there, you also pass dramatic rock formations, hidden caves, and beautiful beaches along the way. Since there\u2019s so much to do in and around Alc\u00fadia, it\u2019s also one of the best places to stay in Mallorca. The historic train ride (Ferrocarril de S\u00f3ller)<\/h3>

Ideally, your journey starts in Palma de Mallorca, where you board the historic Ferrocarril de S\u00f3ller. This authentic wooden train has been running across the island since 1912 and is an experience in itself.\n\nDuring the roughly one-hour ride, you\u2019ll be treated to stunning scenery as the train winds its way through the Tramuntana mountains, passing olive groves, almond orchards, and endless lemon and orange trees along the way.<\/p>

Once you arrive in S\u00f3ller, it\u2019s great to wander through the colorful streets around the central square. Are you done exploring the town? Then hop on the authentic, open-air tram that will take you straight to Port de S\u00f3ller. This seaside resort is located in one of the island\u2019s most beautiful, sheltered bays and is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach.<\/p>
