Visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens<\/h2><p>Just outside the hustle and bustle of Kandy, you\u2019ll find one of Sri Lanka\u2019s most beautiful green spaces: the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. This expansive garden is a peaceful oasis, perfect for spending a few relaxing hours. Stroll beneath towering palm trees, breathe in fragrant herbs, admire vibrant orchids, and explore an impressive collection of tropical plants. The famous avenue lined with king palms is truly a sight to behold.<\/p><p>From downtown Kandy you can get there in about 20 minutes by tuktuk. We visited the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/travander.nl\/en\/what-to-do-nuwara-eliya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">en route to Nuwara Eliya<\/a><\/strong>, the next destination on our tour of Sri Lanka. It was ideal because it allowed us to drive out of town early in the morning before rush hour to recharge at the park and then drive on.
