We visited Sri Lanka in July, right in the middle of the monsoon, and found that the rain was minimal and the beaches were still beautiful. And it was quieter than usual, a bonus if you prefer fewer crowds! For sun-drenched days, calm seas, and optimal surfing conditions, the best time to visit southwestern Sri Lanka is from December to March.<\/span><\/p>

In contrast, the northeast, including Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, and Arugam Bay, experiences its monsoon at the opposite time. The ideal travel period for this region is from April to October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
