Climb the Pyramid of Tirana<\/h3><p>One of the most striking landmarks in the city is the Pyramid of Tirana. The building was designed in 1988 as a tribute to former communist leader Enver Hoxha, but took on a completely different role after the fall of the regime. For years, the pyramid stood empty and fell into disrepair, eventually becoming known mainly as a giant canvas for graffiti. Today, the building has undergone an impressive transformation and has become a modern cultural hub.\u00a0<\/p><p>Climb the roughly 130 steps to the top of the pyramid for panoramic views across Tirana, including a fantastic view of the Namazgah Mosque. Beneath and around the pyramid, you\u2019ll also find several caf\u00e9s that make for a great place to stop for a It\u2019s definitely one of the better hotels in Tirana, with spacious and comfortable rooms, an extensive breakfast and excellent spa and fitness facilities. We stayed here because the hotel was the official base for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/travander.nl\/en\/hiking-in-albania-the-balkan-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our Balkan Trail adventure (read all our tips and experiences!)<\/a><\/strong>. From the hotel, you can walk to the lively city center in around 30 minutes, but taking a taxi is just as easy and quick.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"4\" class=\"translation-block\">Would you rather stay right in the heart of Tirana, so you can reach all the main sights on foot? Bus tickets are inexpensive and can be purchased directly from the conductor.
