Santorini is located in the Aegean Sea and is part of the Cyclades, an archipelago of islands southeast of mainland Greece. The island consists of three parts: Thira, Thirasia and Aspronisi.

Prefer island hopping in Greece? Then you can also reach Santorini by ferry, for example from Athens or other Cyclades islands such as Mykonos or Naxos.
The most interesting period to travel to Santorini is just before and just after the high season. This is in the months of May and June, September and October. Due to its location in the Aegean Sea, the island experiences a warm Mediterranean climate. Summers there are hot and dry and it rarely rains during this period.Â
