Hurghada is a popular beach resort in Egypt with a beautiful location on the Red Sea. It is the perfect vacation destination for those who like to stay in an all-inclusive resort, but also for those who like to go on adventures and see some of the country. In addition, it is also the ideal destination in Egypt for those who like diving and snorkeling. The colorful marine life there is breathtakingly beautiful and you have the chance to discover as many as 300 species of coral and 1,200 species of fish. So there is plenty to experience and do in Hurghada!

1. Take a boat trip to the Giftun Islands

Not everyone knows that in Egypt you can also find tropical islands. In fact, when you think of Egypt you think mostly of the vast desert, the impressive temples and gigantic temples, but Egypt is much more than this. Take the Giftun Islands, for example. Two breathtaking islands where the sea is incredibly blue and where you can easily spend a day. Several boats depart daily from Hurghada to the islands. And believe us, A boat trip to the Giftun Islands Is a day tour you really don't want to miss!

2. On safari through the desert

Vast sandy plains with rugged mountains, a landscape we love. Especially when we can tear through it by jeep and quad. Within a 30-minute drive from Hurghada you will find yourself in this vast area. A place where Bedouins roam and settle for short periods. So one of the stops during a jeep tour of the desert is at a Bedouin's house. Here you get something to drink and eat after which you continue driving through the moon-like landscape. An additional fun activity to add to the jeep tour is to take a quad tour during sunset. A magical moment to be able to tear around by yourself and leave clouds of dust behind you!

3. A day trip to Luxor

If there is one place in Egypt that incredibly impressed us, it is Luxor. The capital from Ancient Egypt is a huge open-air museum where you can easily spend days. You will find many impressive temples, monuments and tombs of important pharaohs. From Hurghada you can take a day trip to Luxor and this absolutely worth it!

4. Beautiful resorts to stay in Hurghada

Hurghada has grown over the years into a real tourist resort. Consequently, the city is divided into several districts. Sakkala is the tourist district of Hurghada, but just outside it you will find most of the resorts. We stayed via Corendon in the Sunrise Crystal Bay Resort. This is a beautiful and large five-star all-inclusive resort on the Red Sea. The rooms are basic, but you will find everything you need. The resort has several restaurants, two pools and entertainment for young and old.

5. Local food in Hurghada

You haven't seen Hurghada if you haven't walked through the streets of Old Town, El Dahar. This is the ideal place to get a taste of the local atmosphere. The streets are full of stores selling clothes, spices and souvenirs. It is a chaotic hustle and bustle, especially when you walk the streets at night. A local drink you should definitely try is fresh orange juice mixed with freshly squeezed sugar cane. A great tip for evening dining is restaurant Elbeet Elmasry.
