The Greek island of Kos is located in the eastern Aegean Sea, just off the coast of Turkey. Kos belongs to the Dodecanese Islands and is a popular travel destination among the Dutch.

The fastest and most common way to travel from the Netherlands to Kos is by air. There are direct flights from Amsterdam and Eindhoven during the summer months.

In our opinion, the months before and after the high season are the best periods to go on vacation to Kos. This is in the months of May and June and in September and October. The high season is in July and August. During these months it is usually very hot and very crowded on the Greek island.

• Asklepion: an ancient Greek medicinal sanctuary, which in ancient times was an important center for healing and medical treatment. Today, ruins can be seen, including the Temple of Asklepios, colonnades and an amphitheater;
• Kos town: the island's capital has a charming blend of ancient and modern influences. Stroll through the narrow streets, admire historical buildings, visit the archaeological museum of Kos, and stroll through the old Agora Square;
• Tigaki Beach: this is one of the most popular beaches on Kos, known for its fine sand and crystal clear waters. The beach stretches for about 10 kilometers and offers facilities such as sunbeds, umbrellas and taverns;

• Plaka Forest: a pine forest near the village of Antimachia. You can hike or bike there, but picnicking is also fun in this green environment.
