If any hotspot is a household name in Aarhus, it is La Cabra. This coffee shop was founded in 2012 and is now conquering the world with their coffee. They started roasting their own coffee in 2013 and later moved to a larger coffee roastery in Copenhagen. In addition to Denmark, there are now La Cabra branches in New York, Bangkok and Dubai. And for good reason, because you get world-class coffee and delicious breads and pastries here.
But La Cabra's origins are in Aarhus and the coffee bar (and bakery) can still be found here! The coffee bar is decorated using classic Danish design. It is therefore a very nice place to sit down during your visit to Aarhus.

2. Cafe Lokomotivhallen
The second hot spot we like to tip off is found in the DGI-Huset. This is a historic and monumental complex in Aarhus, built in 1896 as a repair shop of the Danish national railroad company. Today the iconic building functions mainly as a sports center, but so it also houses a delightful hotspot: Cafe Lokomotivhallen.
At Café Lokomotivhallen you can eat healthy and varied food, as well as sit down for a nice cup of coffee and cake. Café Lokomotivhallen has been awarded "The Organic Cuisine Label," which means it uses a lot of organic products. We love that!

Coffee making is at Stillers Coffee literally elevated to art, and you notice (and taste!) it in everything. This coffee spot was set up by world champion barista Søren Stiller Markussen. The coffee served here is from the in-house roasted Great Coffee brand. Most of the coffees are grown in natural reserve conditions, without the use of artificial fertilizers. Great Coffee offers some 30-40 different coffee varieties from around the world. It works closely with local farmers, without an intermediary, to strive for fair wages for local farmers.
Stillers Coffee is located in the old Latin Quarter in Aarhus. Years ago there was a chocolate factory here. The interior of this coffee shop was made with respect for the history of the building, and the atmosphere is still visible and tangible.

5. Fikumdik Kaffe
A nice informal coffee shop that you just walk into, that is Fikumdik Kaffe. Housed in an old garage, this hot spot has a cool, urban atmosphere. Coming together, music and coffee are key at Fikumdik Kaffe. It is a place where you can work with your laptop, but it also regularly hosts events such as concerts, lectures, quizzes and stand-ups. Fikumdik serves coffee, pastries and light meals. And all with a big smile!
