Of course you’ll want to see the iconic Sacré-Cœur and stroll past Place du Tertre, but it’s the aimless wandering that makes exploring Montmartre so much fun. The view from the top of La Butte Montmartre is spectacular, and a great spot for sunrise or sunset. Expect trendy restaurants, interesting boutiques, and lots (and lots) of stairs.

2. Le Marais
Le Marais is known for its boutiques, historic buildings and trendy cafés. It’s one of Paris’s most charming neighbourhoods: easy to wander for hours and still not get enough of. You might already know Le Marais for the beautiful Place des Vosges, one of the city’s iconic sights.
3. Latin Quarter
In the Latin Quarter, you’ll feel Paris’s lively, youthful energy. You’ll find cosy bookshops, classic bistros, and the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg which is an ideal spot for a picnic. Even though it’s a medieval neighbourhood, it feels wonderfully hip and current. And in the evening, it’s one of the best areas to grab a drink.

How about discovering Paris by bicycle? You'll find Velib stations scattered throughout the city. Here you pick up a bike to return it at another station. 2. Walking through the catacombs of Paris
Want to discover a completely different side of Paris? Head underground to the Catacombs. This network of tunnels, lined with artfully arranged bones and skulls, is one of the city’s most unusual sights. As you wander through the dim corridors, you’ll learn about the history of these former limestone quarries, and how they were transformed into an ossuary in the 18th century.
3. A boat ride on the Seine
It is one of the most obvious activities to do in Paris, so classic but so worthwhile: a boat trip on the Seine. Especially recommended around sunset. We personally find this one of the most beautiful moments of the day!
4. Views of Paris from Tour Montparnasse
Everyone wants to go up the Eiffel Tower for those incredible views over Paris but have you heard of the Tour Montparnasse? It’s a great alternative for a panoramic view of the city, with one big bonus: you’ll actually have the Eiffel Tower in your skyline.

Paris is known for its cozy eateries, from traditional bistros to trendy wine bars. Start your day with a freshly baked croissant or pain au chocolat at one of the many artisan patisseries.
