One moment, you’re in the vibrant heart of downtown Oranjestad, surrounded by iconic colonial architecture, luxury boutiques, and world-class dining. The next, you’re stepping straight from the hotel lobby onto a speedboat, sweeping across turquoise waters to an exclusive private island where you can unwind in complete tranquility. Welcome to Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort, a destination that truly offers an experience like no other.
Two unique experiences: Adults-Only or the Ocean Suites
What makes a stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort so special is that it consists of two distinct areas, each with its own unique character and atmosphere.
Renaissance Marina Hotel (Adults Only)
Located in the very heart of Oranjestad, this stylish hotel is tailored exclusively for adults. Here, you can relax by a beautiful pool overlooking the boulevard and marina. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and feature exceptionally comfortable beds. At the pool bar, you'll find a menu packed with delicious bites and refreshing cocktails. The Marina Hotel also features a restaurant, Starbucks, spa facilities, and a casino, all while putting you just steps away from the shops. But the real standout feature? The dock right inside the property where you board the boat to Renaissance Private Island.
Renaissance Ocean Suites
If you’re looking for extra space and a relaxed beachfront vibe, the Ocean Suites section of the Renaissance is where you’ll want to stay. This is also the resort’s charming family-friendly area. Set right along the coast with sweeping ocean views, the suites offer plenty of comfort, complete with two lovely pools and its own private beach area.
This section of the resort is home to Fresco, hands down our favorite breakfast spot. You get to start your morning outdoors in the warm tropical breeze. Even if you're staying in the Adults-Only wing, you can still head over here to enjoy breakfast!
Renaissance Private Island
While the rooms and amenities are top-notch, the resort’s true jewel is Renaissance Private Island. Reserved exclusively for guests, this private paradise is just a short 15-minute boat ride away. The experience starts right in the lobby of the Marina Hotel, where the boat literally docks indoors to pick you up!
Once you step ashore, you're greeted by a true tropical paradise. Everywhere you look, you'll find powdery white sand, shaded palapas, and idyllic, calm turquoise waters. The island is thoughtfully divided into an Adults-Only section and a lively family beach, both complete with their own beachside restaurant. Looking for an extra touch of luxury? You can rent a private VIP cabana for the day. Either way, this island is pure bliss!
Not staying at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort? You can still visit by purchasing a day pass as a non-guest. Keep in mind that availability is very limited, and tickets are only released online on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. AST (local island time) for the following week.
Hotspots around the resort
On the culinary front, the Renaissance leaves nothing to be desired. The resort itself features several great restaurants, and you’re just steps away from the lively Renaissance Marketplace. Dutch travelers should definitely stop by Café The Plaza for a taste of home, it's the place to go for traditional pancakes, a classic uitsmijter (fried eggs on bread), or a generous lunch platter.
Prefer to explore beyond the resort? Thanks to its central location in Oranjestad, you're within easy walking distance of the city's best dining spots. Unwind in the cozy courtyard at Aruba Experience Café, enjoy fresh sushi inside a historic manor at Que Pasa Restaurant, or head to the coast for a meal at The West Deck. These are all top recommendations we feature in our complete guide: best things to do in Oranjestad.
Why we recommend the Renaissance in our travel itineraries
To be honest, as travel advisors, we see dozens of hotels every year, but the Renaissance is truly one of our favorites in Aruba. And for us personally, that’s all about the location and the variety it offers. In the morning, you can wander through the colorful streets of Oranjestad, grab a refreshing drink at one of the hotspots, and moments later, you’re lounging on the beach at Renaissance Private Island. That combination is unique and an experience in itself.
Both sections of the resort are also great for a beach vacation in Aruba. The stylish Marina Hotel is a very pleasant and peaceful place, but the spacious Ocean Suites is also incredibly relaxing.
Our best tip? Combine a few nights at the Renaissance with an intimate stay at the Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba. That way, you get to enjoy two unique experiences. First, the energy of the city, then ultimate relaxation in nature (or the other way around, of course).
