Are you planning a trip to Peru and looking for fine accommodation? Then definitely consider staying at Aranwa Hotels! During our trip through Peru, we slept at 3 of the 5 Aranwa Hotels and we are happy to share our personal experience with Aranwa's luxurious hotels and resorts!
Aranwa Hotels Resorts & Spas: a unique combination between culture and well-being
Before we were making plans for our trip to Peru, we had never heard of the Aranwa hotel chain. Perhaps quite logical, since the hotel chain is thus only found in this country. The hotel chain breathes Peru and this is precisely what makes the hotels so special. Aranwa Hotels Resorts & Spas represents the unique combination between culture and well-being. "Aranwa" means "legend" in Quechua, the original Inca language in Peru. Therefore, in each of the hotels you can live authentic and legendary experiences in terms of wellness, gastronomy and culture. For example mystical spa experiences inspired by traditions from the Sacred Valley of the Incas, as well as to ceviche and Pisco Sour workshops (typically Peruvian!).
The Aranwa Hotels are an ideal option if you are looking for luxury and comfort in Peru. Not only are the hotels known for their beautiful rooms, wellness facilities and excellent cuisine, but they all tell their own story. For example, the Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel is an old hacienda and the Cusco Boutique Hotel is housed in a sixteenth-century mansion. You will be immersed in the splendor of the colonial period at the hotel, isn't that special?
Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel
The 5-star hotel Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel is located in a renovated 16th-century mansion in the center of Cusco. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1980. The hotel has a beautiful interior and is decorated with stylish antiques, crystal chandeliers and marble details. Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of the Inca city, two blocks from the famous Plaza de Armas square.

Besides being a hotel, Cusco Boutique Hotel is also a museum of sorts. In fact, the hotel houses more than 300 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, beautiful colonial furniture and fine gold and silverware. Pisco Sour class
What we loved about the Aranwa Hotels in Peru is that you can book activities where you can learn more about Peruvian culture and gastronomy. For example, we took a Pisco Sour class at Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel. Pisco Sour is a typical cocktail from Peru and is based on Pisco, a Peruvian grape brandy. Besides Pisco, the ingredients are lime juice from small Peruvian sour limes, fresh egg white and syrup. During the cocktail workshop, we not only learned how this drink is made, but the bartender also shared fun facts with us. For example, before serving the cocktail, three drops of Angostura Bitters should be added to the foam of the Pisco Sour. The three drops represent health, love and money!
Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness
The Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness is an incredibly special hotel. It was originally a 17th-century hacienda on the road to Machu Picchu. It is about an hour's drive from (the airport of) Cusco and particularly recommended if you are visiting Peru's Sacred Valley. The Sacred Valley is a 100-kilometer-long valley with authentic villages and agricultural terraces. It is, if you ask us, one of the most beautiful regions of Peru.
The hacienda has been converted into a wellness and spa hotel: the Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness. It has 115 modern and colonial rooms, including 14 suites. Everywhere you feel and see the ancient culture through the impressive colonial architecture. We were truly amazed at how unreally beautiful it is here. You are one with nature here and surrounded by alpacas, parrots and avocado and eucalyptus trees. In the background you can hear the peaceful sound of hummingbirds.
The Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness is a place to completely unwind. Not only is the setting stunning, the food is delectable and you can get completely pampered with the massages and beauty treatments at the UNNO Spa.
The unique rooms
The rooms at the resort are simply beautiful. In addition to the Deluxe Twin Rooms, there are several suites. We slept in one of the colonial-style River Suites with Jacuzzi and views of the Vilcanota River, but there is also a suite with its own indoor pool.
UNNO Spa
One of the highlights of the hotel is undoubtedly the UNNO Spa. The UNNO Spa at Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness is known as one of the best wellness spots in the region. We had an exfoliation, massage and facial pampered during our stay. There are numerous different spa experiences here, including all kinds of massages, Ayurveda and Andean rituals and mystical experiences inspired by traditions from the Sacred Valley of the Incas (the Sacred Valley).
Pizza class
What's also incredibly fun to do at the hotel is take a pizza workshop. And then we hear you think, pizza, isn't that Italian? But no, in Peruvian cuisine you will find a lot of foreign influences. Peruvian cuisine is actually a mix of cultures combining Andean traditions with foreign culinary trends. Dishes such as sushi and pizza are given their own twist by using local ingredients. At Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness, you'll find a "casona" with a still-remaining colonial kitchen with stone oven. Here the staff prepares freshly baked wood-fired pizzas. During the pizza class you will learn all about preparing Peruvian-style pizza!
Aranwa Paracas Resort & Spa
Aranwa Paracas Resort & Spa is a great hotel in Paracas Bay in the province of Pisco. The resort is ideally located if you are in Peru the Paracas National Reserve and the Ballestas Islands want to visit: two of the absolute highlights of the country. You can also walk from the resort to the cozy center of Paracas.
We had an immediate vacation feeling upon arrival at Aranwa Paracas Resort & Spa. Not only is it sunny here almost year-round, er is also a large swimming pool and all facilities have been thought of. There is an attractive restaurant and bar and, as at Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness, a wellness center as well. During sunset at the hotel you have a beautiful view. The staff is also incredibly friendly and the service here is world-class.
Ceviche class
As with Aranwa's other hotels, you can also book fun activities and workshops at Aranwa Paracas Resort & Spa. For example, we took a ceviche class! Ceviche is a specialty of Peruvian cuisine. Ceviche is a preparation of fresh raw fish cooked in lime and sea salt. The combination of sour, salty and spicy gives ceviche a distinctive taste. Ceviche is particularly refreshing, and the ideal dish for a hot day on the coast of Paracas!

In addition to the three hotels where we stayed, there are two other hotels of the Aranwa hotel chain: Charming Town of Colca and Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas.
Charming Town of Colca
Aranwa Charming Town of Colca is located in the Coporaque neighborhood along the banks of the Colca River, three hours from downtown Arequipa. Coporaque is a special place with a huge colonial history. A place we definitely want to visit on our next Peru trip!
Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas
Spectacular sunsets, an excellent location and exquisite cuisine is what you can expect at Vichayito Bungalows & Carpas. This resort in Los Organos is located right on the beach and overlooks stunning turquoise waters. It is located in a rural setting and you will find yourself among palm trees. The accommodations are bungalows and Bedouin tents, making it a unique stay.
