Den Bosch is among one of the most popular cities in the Netherlands. This city is not only loved by tourists, but also certainly by tourists from home. A day in Den Bosch has a lot to offer and is fun for young and old. Are you planning a city trip to Den Bosch soon and want to be well prepared? Or are you curious about what the area has to offer? Then read on for some practical tips and the necessary inspiration for a day in Den Bosch!

Parking in the center of Den Bosch

Are you going out by car and want to park it in the center? Then keep in mind that some days it can be extremely busy in Den Bosch. This certainly applies to the high season. In addition, the rates per parking garage vary enormously. If you do not want to spend more than necessary and want to be assured of a spot, it is wise to reserve a spot in advance. This can be done at a parking garage in Den Bosch of Q-Park.

The advantage of reserving a spot is not only that you are guaranteed a spot, but also that you know exactly where you stand. You know exactly what you have to pay to park for an entire day. By comparing online in advance, you also easily choose the cheapest parking garage in the area. Parking in Den Bosch is available from as little as 15 euros per day.

Opening hours and best days to visit Den Bosch

Most stores in Den Bosch are open from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00. On shopping Sundays (every last Sunday of the month), the center is also busy and many stores are open from 12:00 to 17:00. Restaurants and attractions often have longer opening hours, especially on weekends.

Want to explore the city at your leisure? Then plan your visit on a Tuesday or Thursday. These days are usually less busy than the popular Friday afternoons or Saturdays. You can then enjoy the terraces, stores and cultural highlights in a more relaxed manner. Cute boutiques can be found in the Vughterstraat, Verwersstraat and Snellestraat. Here you shop local and unique.

Tip: Most museums are closed on Mondays. Handy to keep in mind when planning a cultural day out in Den Bosch.

Besides practical tips, of course we also like to share our own favorites. Are you going to Den Bosch for a day? Then these favorite spots should definitely not be missing from your list.

1. Go in search of the best Bossche Bol

2. Soak up culture at St. John's Cathedral

Of course it is also nice to see something during a trip in your own country. If you are visiting Den Bosch for the first time, there is plenty to see. A visit to the St. John's Cathedral should definitely not be missed. This church is not only beautiful to see, but also great to climb. After braving no less than 218 steps, you reach the top and can enjoy a fantastic view of Den Bosch. Want to see more of the city? 3. Take a tour of the Market Square: paradise for bourgondians

Real bourgondians beware: visit Den Bosch preferably on Wednesdays or Saturdays. This is because on these days the local market can be found. This market has been enormously important for Den Bosch since time immemorial. In the past, distant traders already came to this place to sell their goods. Today, the Markt, located in the heart of Den Bosch, is still a fantastic place to taste the tastiest local products and meet the people of Den Bosch.

4. Boating on the Binnendieze: a unique view of the city

Would you like to experience Den Bosch in a different way? Step aboard a boat for a cruise on the Binnendieze. This historic water route winds right through and under the city. While you sail under centuries-old vaults, a guide will tell you all about the history and hidden places of Den Bosch.

The tours leave from April through October from Molenstraat, near St. John's. Tip: reserve your tickets in advance online, as the boats tend to fill up quickly in the summer months.
