If there is one city that is totally hip and emerging, it is Tilburg. This industrial city is bursting with trendy hotspots and beautiful sights. Tilburg is therefore the ideal city for a nice city break in the Netherlands. The hippest restaurants and bars can be found in the Spoorzone and in the Piushaven, two of the nicest places in Tilburg. Wondering which places you should be at? These are our personal tips for visiting Tilburg!
Restaurants and bars in the Spoorzone in Tilburg
The Spoorzone in Tilburg is one of the city's most dynamic neighborhoods. The former industrial area has been transformed into a hip hot spot with unique restaurants and bars.
1. Gourmet Market Central Station Tilburg
One of the nicest spots in Tilburg's Spoorzone is the Gourmet Market Central Station. This is the smaller version of the well-known Downtown Gourmet Market in Eindhoven. Here you will find 16 unique food concepts under one roof, with dishes from all over the world. Think street food, authentic Asian dishes and surprising snacks. We went for Chimac's Korean Fried Chicken, but will definitely come back again to try other stands and their dishes. Be sure to take a look inside, because the Gourmet Market is definitely an "Instagrammable" place.
2. Eatery Bar the Wagon
Eetbar de Wagon is a unique culinary hotspot in Tilburg, located in two historic train carriages from 1900 opposite the north side of the station. This special eatery not only offers an atmospheric and nostalgic setting, but also a surprising menu with creative dishes. At De Wagon, everything is about experience: from the flavorful dishes to the unique proprietary wines they serve. The relaxed and quirky atmosphere makes it a fine place for a cozy drink, a sumptuous dinner or even a festive occasion. Derailment is allowed here, and you'll notice that in the creative combinations on the menu and the welcoming ambiance.
3. Raw 013
RAW 013 is a culinary hotspot in the Spoorzone and stands for Restaurant Altijd Welkom. But if you ask us, the name also refers to the raw character of the Spoorzone. RAW 013 is located in a shed where trains used to be repaired. The tough, industrial look of the shed has been preserved and dressed up with a hip interior. At RAW 013 you can have lunch, dinner and nice drinks. A favorite is the steak!
4. Doloris: Meta Maze and rooftop bar
If there is one hot spot in Tilburg that we are fans of, it is Doloris. It is not only a unique location because of its rooftop bar with 360° views of Tilburg's skyline, but also through the Meta Maze art maze. We can't give away much about the Meta Maze, but can guarantee you that you absolutely must experience it once. Doloris' kitchen serves up worldly flavors in an all-day menu. You'll find on the map diverse snacks, as well as delicious cocktails. You can also visit the rooftop bar without entering the Meta Maze.

5. T-House in Rail Park
If you go to Tilburg, then a visit to the Spoorpark should not be missed. Here you can enjoy a piece of green in the middle of the city. You will also find in the Spoorpark the nice eatery T-Huis. During the summer months, T-Huis regularly features fun outdoor bars and kiosks. Here, for example, you can get tasty picnic baskets and refreshing drinks, such as specialty beers and cocktails.
Hotspots in Tilburg's Piushaven
Piushaven is a lively neighborhood with a unique blend of industrial charm and modern conviviality. Over the years, this former industrial harbor has become one of the most vibrant places in Tilburg. The harbor is surrounded by cool hotspots and jetties where you can moor pleasure yachts and sloops. Here you will find some of the best restaurants in Tilburg.
6. City Brewery 013
For lovers of specialty beer, Stadsbrouwerij 013 is the place to be in Tilburg. This craft brewery has a wide range of home-brewed beers, ranging from fresh blond beers to hearty dark ales. In the tasting room or on the sunny terrace at Piushaven you can enjoy these unique beers, possibly combined with a well-filled drink board or a tasty meal. The informal atmosphere and the passion for beer make this brewery a great place to drop in during a city trip to Tilburg.
7. Restaurant RAK
Restaurant RAK is located directly on Piushaven and offers a beautiful view of the water with the passing boats. This modern restaurant serves dishes from international cuisine at a high level. The cozy decor and sophisticated menu make RAK one of the best restaurants in Tilburg.
8. Villa Parsonage
Villa Pastorie is a unique and surprising hotspot. It overlooks the Piushaven just outside the center of Tilburg. There is a homely atmosphere. It is a wonderful place to sit down during a day in Tilburg for a cup of coffee and cake. But you can also spend the night at Villa Pastorie! You can stay in one of the authentic rooms with surprising elements and daring details.
