And of course you can find all these delicacies in the atmospheric city of Bruges. This alone is reason enough to plan a city trip to Bruges, right? Atmospheric dining out in Bruges
In a city that is on UNESCO's World Heritage List, it is inevitable that you will also find great hotspots. Especially when the historic buildings are beautifully lit in the evening, Bruges transforms into an atmospheric and romantic place to have a nice dinner out.
1. The Flemish Pot
The premises of The Flemish Pot is perhaps one of the city's most photographed spots. Not surprisingly, the red window frames, red and white awnings and iconic construction do create quite a picture. As the name suggests, the kitchen of this restaurant specializes in authentic Flemish cuisine. A dish we definitely recommend is "waterzooi" with chicken or North Sea fish. There is also a vegetarian option. Inside, De Vlaamsche Pot is just as authentic, but oh so attractively decorated. Truly a topper of a hotspot in Bruges!
Hotspots in Bruges where you can have a cozy drink
No matter what time of year you visit Bruges, the terraces are always full. Therefore, in our opinion, it is an incredibly cozy city. Whether this has to do with the many types of beer you can taste here, no idea. But having a drink in Bruges is guaranteed!
2. Rose Red
During our city trip to Bruges, we were curious about the hotspots a local would tip us off to. After all, you often get hotspots that locals think are fun for tourists. But if you really want to experience a city like a local, you have to ask where he or she likes to go. And this is exactly how we ended up at the super cozy and atmospheric Café Rose Red. You'll find the café in an authentic building in the center of Bruges, but just off the beaten path. What makes this hot spot in Bruges so nice is that you are actually among the locals, as well as the ceiling that is full of hanging roses. On the menu you'll find delicious dishes and all the world-renowned Trappist beers!
Tip: in this same building you will also find Hotel Rose Red.
3. The Crescent Moon
Bruges and beer go together perfectly. So proves also brewery The Crescent Moon which has been located in Bruges since 1856. A visit to the brewery is a must when you are in Bruges. But it is also definitely a hot spot where you can go for a refreshing beer and a tasty drink board!
