If there is one thing Curaçao is known for, it is its beautiful beaches and bays with crystal clear water. Scattered around the island you will find white sandy beaches where you can easily enjoy yourself for hours, if not days. To explore the most beautiful beaches of Curaçao, it is convenient to have a rental car, so you can easily reach the hidden gems. A fine way to rent a car in Curaçao is through SunnyCars.
The northwest coast of the island is particularly worth visiting, as many of Curaçao's most beautiful beaches can be found here.

2. Discover the colorful streets of Willemstad: Otrobanda, Punda and Pietermaai
One of the very nicest places in Curaçao is, without a doubt, the capital, Willemstad. It is known for its vibrant neighborhoods, such as Otrobanda, Punda and Pietermaai. Otrobanda, a neighborhood that has undergone an impressive transformation, is now filled with colorful colonial buildings and street art. On the other side of the Queen Emma Bridge (the well-known Pontjesbrug) is Punda, the historic heart of the city, where you will find the iconic Handelskade, cozy alleys and squares filled with boutiques and restaurants.
A fun way to explore Willemstad is with an e-bike tour that takes you past the most beautiful sights. Prefer to walk? Then stroll through Otrobanda and discover highlights such as the colorful staircases on Van Lennepstraat, the street art around Hoogstraat and the Kura Hulanda Museum.

3. Stroll across the iconic Pontjes Bridge
The Queen Emma Bridge, better known as the Pontjesbrug, is one of Willemstad's most recognizable landmarks. What makes this bridge so special is that it can fully open to allow ships to pass through. It is a spectacular sight when a cruise ship passes by, but smaller boats also occasionally cause the bridge to open. A bell lets you know when the bridge is moving and sometimes you are even allowed to stand on the bridge for a while. Can't stay put? Then use the free ferry to get across. Don't forget to admire the bridge at night, when it is beautifully lit, creating an extra magical atmosphere.
4. Visit the Hòfi Mango natural park
A special place on Curaçao is the natural park Hòfi Mango. You can walk through the mango grove where there are as many as hundreds of mango trees. There are many more plants and trees to admire, but the literal highlight is the panoramic view of the plantation, the sea and the mountains. You can visit Hòfi Mango independently or with a guide who will take you through the park and tell you about its history and future plans. The entrance fee for tourists is 15 USD (online) and 18 USD on site (prices in 2025).
5. Dance with your feet in the sand in Curaçao
Jan Thiel Beach and Mambo Beach are known for their vibrant beach parties, so be sure to plan a fun night out. During the week there are many different parties you can go to, so to give you a hand here are the best parties per day:

6. Take a day trip to Klein Curaçao
If there is one place on Curaçao that we have lost our hearts to, it is Klein Curaçao. To get there you have to plan a day trip and brave the sometimes high waves at sea, but you get a lot in return. After all, a day trip to Klein Curaçao is all about relaxing on a tropical island. You can make it as busy as you want, so if you just want to lie on the beach, you can. Still, we can recommend you to at least visit the dilapidated lighthouse and if you still have the energy to walk on to the shipwrecks. Curious about all our tips and which organization we recommend? 7. Climb to the top of Mount Christoffel
There are some great activities you can do on Curaçao, but one of the things we recommend is climbing Mount Christoffel. With a height of 372 meters, the Christoffelberg is the highest point of the island, and also belongs to the top 3 highest mountains of the Dutch Kingdom. You surely understand that this is therefore an extra reason to drive to the northwest of the island early in the morning. Climb Mount Christoffel preferably in the morning before the worst heat. The marine life around Curaçao is truly breathtaking. The ocean is home to thousands of colorful species of fish and offers excellent opportunities to spot sea turtles. Remember to bring a snorkel set from the Netherlands or rent one from one of the beach bars. These are the best snorkeling spots on Curaçao that you should not miss!
9. Book an adventurous off-road baby carriage tour
Whereas the southeast of Curaçao is full of hotels and trendy hotspots, the northwest of the island is a lot more unspoiled. This is therefore where you can find the most beautiful beaches of the island, but you will also find beautiful nature. Two examples are the Christoffel Park and the Hòfi Mango Nature Park.
But did you know that the coastline here is also very impressive? The way to explore this pristine part of Curaçao, also known as Bandabou, is with an adventurous off-road baby carriage tour. Be prepared for a lot of dirt, but oh, how adventurous and fun this is to do on Curaçao!
A well-regarded organization is Curaçao Activities, but also be sure to check out the offer on GetYourGuide.
10. Suppen on the Spanish Water
Is an off-road baby carriage tour just a little too intense for you, but you still want to do a sporty activity on Curaçao? Then supping on the Spanish Water is a lot of fun to do.
Spanish Water is a quiet, vast lagoon filled with beautiful bays, islands and beautiful mangroves. The organization Windsurfing Curacao offers fun sup-tours where you paddle across Spanish Water and through mangrove forests. Be sure to cover up well because on the water you burn very quickly!

We obtained our diving license at Ocean Encounters on Mambo Beach during a three-day course and it was an experience we will never forget. It may cost a little, but this investment in your own adventure is absolutely worth it.
