Are you looking for the best hotspots in Willemstad to eat, lunch or drink? Then this is the place to be! Willemstad, the colorful capital of Curaçao, is packed with cozy restaurants, cozy coffee shops and surprising cocktail bars. We have been to Curaçao several times now and have collected our favorite culinary pearls in Willemstad. All the places in this list we have visited, tasted and approved ourselves. From hidden courtyards to tasty street food, these are the hotspots in Willemstad that you should not miss!

1. Hot spot in Pietermaai: MosaCaña

One of our favorite places to eat out in Curaçao is without a doubt MosaCaña. Here everything revolves around shared dining, a concept we love. The dishes are modern, creative and internationally inspired. The menu is full of tasty dishes, from small bites to larger portions to share. Our favorite dish? That would have to be the Tuna Tataki! The restaurant has a romantic terrace in a cozy courtyard surrounded by colonial buildings. After dinner, slide on over to the adjacent cocktail bar for a stylish end to the evening.

Tip: Be sure to get informed about the specials of the day, as they rarely disappoint.

Address: Penstraat 41 in Pieterman // Price range: €€-€€€€€.

You can have breakfast, enjoy a fresh smoothie or a colorful salad for lunch. At Maira's Kitchen you can completely unwind after wandering through the colorful streets of Otrobanda.

The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff friendly and the menu surprisingly versatile. We came for a quick lunch, but lingered much longer than planned. So this is the kind of place it is!

3. Drinking coffee in Willemstad at James'

For the best coffee in Willemstad, James is the place to be. This cozy coffee shop in lively Pietermaai not only serves excellent cappuccinos, but also delicious breakfasts and pastries. Think freshly baked croissants, creamy pancakes and banana bread. We like to start our day here with a good cup of coffee before exploring the rest of Willemstad.

4. Munchies: a hot spot in Willemstad off the beaten path

Looking for a place off the beaten path? Munchies is one of those hidden hot spots that you don't just land in as a tourist, which is exactly what makes it such a fun tip to give. This laid-back hotspot is located just outside Willemstad, making it perfect as a stopover on the way to one of the beautiful beaches on the west side of Curaçao.

The atmosphere is tropical and relaxed. Here we enjoyed a blissful slice of banana bread with coconut yogurt (highly recommended!) and an iced chai latte that we are still talking about.

As far as we are concerned, Fort Nassau is among the most spectacular restaurants in Curaçao. Housed in an 18th-century fortress here you look out over all of the capital, especially around sunset the view is truly magical. The atmosphere is stylish, the food of a high standard and the location unique. It is an incredibly beautiful place for a romantic night out for dinner.
