Eating ramen at the tastiest restaurants in Rotterdam? In this article we share our favorite hotspots where you can enjoy a delicious bowl of steaming noodle soup. Rotterdam is known for its international culinary scene and you will find plenty of tasty restaurants when it comes to Japanese ramen. Whether you are a lover or simply curious about Japanese cuisine, the following hotspots are guaranteed to surprise your taste buds. Find out where to eat the most delectable ramen in Rotterdam, this is our top 6!

1. Takumi

Stipend number one for us is Takumi Ramen Kitchen. Why? This is because we ate our first ramen at the Takumi establishment in the Market Hall, and believe us this was a surprisingly positive experience. Not only because of the insane taste explosions, but also because of the warm hospitality and tasteful decor. Takumi has several locations in Rotterdam, so there is always one near you. And what makes these noodle dishes so good is that noodles are specially flown in from Sapporo!

There are several Takumi locations in Rotterdam, but our favorite establishment is the Markthal (Grote Markt 178).

2. AJISAN

With furnishings inspired by modern Tokyo, the open kitchen of AJISAN We work passionately every day to prepare the most delicious noodle soups. A nice place in the restaurant is the bar, because from here you have a good view of what happens in the kitchen and you can have a nice chat with the chef. All the ramen served here is made without adding any chemical flavorings, which is exactly why AJISAN is such a popular ramen restaurant in Rotterdam. Apart from the fact that they have an inclusive menu. This means that the menu is full of halal, vegetarian and vegan noodle dishes.

3. Hinoki

That more and more ramen restaurants are appearing in Rotterdam is a fact. The flavorful noodle dishes are therefore in huge demand. Yet there is one hotspot in Rotterdam where you can eat ramen for years, and that is at Hinoki where the noodle soup is prepared in true authentic Japanese fashion. The base of the soups and noodles are imported from Japan, and this therefore gives the authentic taste to the ramen.

Address Hinoki: Keizerstraat 52, Rotterdam

4. Tensai Ramen

If there are often lines at the door of a restaurant, it means you can eat very well there. And that is certainly the case at Tensai Ramen in Rotterdam. This is where you slurp down juicy and flavorful noodles (preferably within 8 minutes as it should be). It is not a restaurant where you can dine for a long time. That's a shame, but in the end it's all about the delicious food. Tensai Ramen is known in Rotterdam for serving fresh noodles, as they are made by hand every day!

5. Set Noodle & Hotpot

That in Japan ramen is eaten much more often than sushi is unknown to many, but originally ramen is an indispensable dish in Japanese street food culture. So if you want an evening of real Japanese food, choose ramen instead of sushi for once. A great place to remember in the Old West is Set Noodle & Hotpot. A cozy restaurant where you can go for a quick bite, but remember you can also order from Set for home!

6. FG S.O.S.

A slightly different kind of restaurant in this list is FG S.O.S., as this is the street food concept of the Labs by Francois Geurds restaurant located in the Hofbogen. This Michelin restaurant transforms in the afternoon into a street food restaurant where you can go for affordable, light and quick meals. Including, therefore, insane noodle dishes. Truly a worthwhile tip, even if we say so ourselves!
